 About the Book

An abstracted description of this book ends up being much more interesting than, well, the book itself actually is. I did enjoy it, and some interesting stuff happens, but ultimately it carries too much of the sort of american (straight-white-male) pomo/experimentalist vibe that just never quite feels right to me (being, of course, a devoted francophile). I almost feel that if Kalichs novel had come out far earlier, as I guess had been intended, it would have seemed oddly indicative of what the future holds, but in the wake and permeation of reality tv culture, it just seems less developed of a conceit, or something.
